Our Story
What We Do
About Our Mission Trips

FSU H.E.R.O. is a registered student organization at Florida State University. We are partnered with H.E.R.O. at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University whom we work in conjunction with on certain projects. Our parent organization, H.E.R.O. Global, is a humanitarian outreach project that strives to provide cost-free health care and educational resources to communities throughout the Caribbean.

FSU H.E.R.O. members work throughout the year to give back to the Tallahassee community by participating in community service and by contributing to supply drives. Members are also presented with research opportunities, educational resources, and chances to build relationships with medical professionals. Biannually, our members are invited to participate in medical mission trips to Guyana, South America and are selected based on their involvement with the club throughout the school year.

Each spring and summer we select four to five club members and one team leader to attend the trip to Guyana in conjunction with the H.E.R.O. members from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. While there, our members and the team of medical professionals provide medical care to hundreds of people. Once in Guyana, the FSU and FAMU team of students splits into two locations; one group stays in Georgetown, Guyana, and the other relocates to Linden, Guyana. At the end of the trip, everyone reunites in Georgetown.
